this honestly feels like it wouldn't have happened before the Trump era. This is the same now-familiar "ends justify the means" self-righteousness that lets people blow off any social norms, even at the cost of their own reputation….

I thought @photomatt's behavior was already pretty egregious, but forcing me to agree with @dhh is one step too far.
"That's the deal. That's open source. I give you a gift of code, you accept the terms of the license. There cannot be a second set of shadow obligations that might suddenly apply, if you strike it rich using the software. Then the license is meaningless."
