Pre-season and early season polls had a consensus that Alabama and Ohio State were definitely 1&2 and UGA was a distant third. They didnβt doubt that UGA was good. They were just all in agreement that Alabama and Ohio State were slam dunks while UGA was rebuilding.

The hyper focus on Kent State and Missouri was over the top. Blowouts of everyone else didnβt matter. They even said the Tennessee game was an βelimination gameβ for UGA, but not for the Vols. It was noticed, and not forgotten.

A lot of people claimed Georgia was just another 2019 with a historic defense that would not see another championship anytime soon. They said stetson couldnβt lead a team on his own and the only reason they won because of the defense from last year. They criticize them all year.
