Our final speaker of the day was Lily Holland who provided a paper titled ‘Janelle Monáe and Mediated Memory’ which included some really enjoyable clips from their music. The observations on the film style and how it captured their performance and memory were excellent! Bravo 👏

@SWWDTP Next on this panel, we had @AlishaMathers who discussed ‘The Representation of Refugee Homemaking in Remi Weekes’ horror film His House (2020)’ and how this film demonstrates what needs to change about refugee housing in the UK. Thank you for this valuable talk!! 👏
