My father, my hero, has passed away. He was my first teacher and the reason I ever picked up a microphone. My hiatus was due in part to my need to take care of him in his final years, and he will live on through my work. Thank you for understanding and for all the kind words.

Last year, I missed my dad’s call on my birthday, so he left me a voicemail. It’s the last recording I have of him and today, more than ever, I’m grateful that I kept it.

Most condolence are self-serving. The same niggas you ain’t hear from in ages are the first ones to say “I JUST talked to him” like a nigga can come back and confirm that. My opinion means very little, so I stay quiet. I pray for the families. I pray for a future.

I don’t talk just to talk, which is why I don’t tweet. I made generational, life-changing money last year. I stayed in the studio and stayed at the bank. I dedicated all my time to that so that I could dedicate the rest of my time to this. Happy New Year, see you soon.

Pressuring artists to release content, kills the life and creativity found within them. It’s still art, and it shouldn’t sound like it was prepackaged in a factory. It‘s important to step away and create. Give artists the time and space to make classics. The game is missing it.

True story: I did a feature verse and outshined the main artist on their song, so now they want to “postpone” the record. I told them I’m taking my bars back, so you guys are getting more music sooner than I thought 😂
