It is getting more and more obvious. There is only one way out of this pandemic - HYBRID IMMUNITY. We can 'play around' with the viral world by changing our behaviours in different ways. Thus we can reduce the transmissions for a while, but the viruses come back to bite.. 1/

@MartinFoleyMP @DanielAndrewsMP @McghieMp You made that announcement 4 years ago and have delivered nothing. Even IF you delivered this time it would be in at least 5 years, and where would be the staff to man the hospital come from?

Victorian Labor has racked up $167.5 BILLION in debt and is still throwing money at the problem. The problem is Labor’s criminally inept governance and corruption. But whatever, let’s spend $12.8M of YOUR money to open a new office in Paris! WTF. 😑

Dan Andrews has made Victoria the state with the highest debt in Australia. Guess how we’re paying it back? With the highest taxes in Australia.

Up early again. Advocating for patients affordable access to medications. It can’t be that in Australia vulnerable folks miss out on health care due to costs. Preventive primary care is an investment that saves thousands in avoidable hospital admissions down stream.

N95 masks are highly effective for preventing COVID spread, but at a population level, where it is usually loosely work surgical or cloth masks, there is just no evidence that they have a role in preventing spread. Luckily we do have very effective vaccines!

I was an early mask adopter -- & they make intuitive sense -- but a growing body of evidence shows that mask mandates don't appear to make much difference at the community level.

People are dying because of a failed emergency call system, ambulance service in crisis and hospitals overrun. Premier blames pandemic! Rubbish! A failure of government investment and priorities. Communities in regional Victoria would rather keep their citizens alive,

Having healthy non infected close contacts isolate is such a 2020 measure 💁‍♂️ It’s time we moved to “stay at home if feeling unwell” and “RAT tests” for some extra precaution 🔱 Workforce is struggling everywhere ❌ Focus should be having vulnerable boosted ✅ #COVID19Vic

It’s important that public health recommendations have an impact proportionate to their negative effects on other elements of society. Unfortunately omicron BA2 is not impacted by large scale interventions like work from home or indoor masks. Boosting the vulnerable is the answer

Important lessons have been learned, especially to ignore epidemiologists with chronic history of amplifying fear. A more responsible message for those concerned about BA2 is to ensure you have had a booster if in vulnerable cohort and to wear an N95 if concerned 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

Epidemiologists are warning Victorians to prepare for a rise in Covid cases as a sub-variant of Omicron takes hold.
