Seems like not a day goes by where we aren’t impounding a speeder going more than 50 above the limit. This was in a 100 zone on single lane highway in an area wildlife is prevalent. In addition to the $1044 fine, the impound and admin fees are also the drivers’ responsibility.

On Saturday afternoon, a driver was stopped in the 60 zone on 22nd Street going 124 km/h. In addition to having the car impounded for a week, this motorist was fined $955. This high a speed in an urban environment can turn to tragedy in an instant. #SlowDownYXE

A lot can go wrong on a motorcycle at 150 km/h in a busy freeway's 90 zone. Fortunately, this rider was safely stopped, but was given a $910 ticket while the bike was loaded onto a flatdeck. #Slowdown

Yikes! This driver on Highway 14 just west of the city isn’t paying attention to Canada Road Safety Week. 76 km /h over gets you a $1089 fine and a week long vehicle impound. #SlowDownYXE #CRSW2019

Broadway Bridge is no place for high speeds, especially at mid-day with so many other road users present. 106 km/h in the 50 zone earned this driver a $865 fine and the tow truck is taking this late-model BMW to the impound for a week. #SlowDown

For the past few years, it has been my pleasure to be the "thumbs" behind the @SPStraffic account as well as the head of the traffic section. Over that time, we've seen substantial decreases in fatality rates on our roads. I have no doubt that the conversations we've had here ...

If you have 27 prior traffic convictions - 6 of which for not wearing a seatbelt, please don’t ask the officer who watched you panic in traffic and pull on your seatbelt to give you a warning. #clickitorticket
