Mark Fotheringham in action for @CelticFC. Fozzy played three times for Celtic in the SPL before playing for teams such as Dundee and Dundee United, Fulham, Norwich, SC Freiburg, Anorthosis Famagusta & more. He is now first team coach back at Celtic alongside Martin O’Neill.

Current @saintmirrenfc CEO @keithlasley in action for @MotherwellFC during his playing days. He had two spells at Fir Park as a player - from 1999 until 2004 and from 2006 until 2017 and was inducted into the clubs hall of fame in 2022. Also played for @Argyle & @BlackpoolFC.

Romanian international Marius Niculae signed for @ICTFC in 2007 after a spell with Bundesliga side Mainz. He played 35 SPL games for Caley scoring 8 goals. Niculae also earned 44 Romania caps and scored 15 goals at international level & now works as their U21 sporting director.

Emmanuel Dorado in action for @LiviFCOfficial. The Frenchman won the League Cup with Livi in 2004. He also played for PSG, Almeria, Malaga, Angers and Cordoba in his career. Now the manager of Sainte-Geneviève Sports and has been in charge since 2008.

Noel Hunt was a key player for @dundeeunitedfc in his two seasons at Tannadice from 2006 until 2008 He scored 23 SPL goals in 64 games before moving to @ReadingFC who he later went on to manage post retirement. He also played for Dunfermline in the SPL & won three Ireland caps.

Andrius Skerla was a stalwart for @officialdafc during the SPL era. The centre back made 199 appearances for the Pars and scored in the 2004 Scottish Cup final. He also played for @PSV & won 84 caps for his native Lithuania where he now manages the Under 21 national team.

The late great Fabian Caballero in action for @DundeeFC. The Argentine spent five years at Dens Park and was a fans favourite during his time at the club. Fabian also played for @Arsenal prior to his move to Scotland. He sadly passed away in 2024. May he rest in peace 🕊️

Current @Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta in action for @RangersFC. The Spaniard was at Ibrox from 2002 until 2004 playing 50 SPL games scoring 12 goals. He also played for Barcelona B, PSG, Real Sociedad, Everton and Arsenal before becoming Pep Guardiola’s assistant at Man City.

Andy Dorman celebrates scoring for @saintmirrenfc in 2010. He was a fantastic player for the Buddies, scoring 19 goals in 88 SPL games while in Paisley before moving to @CPFC. He was capped by @Cymru three times and also played for @NERevolution, @Official_BRFC & FC Boston.

Fabian Yantorno in action for Gretna against Inverness Caledonian Thistle in 2007. The Argentine make twenty one appearances for Gretna scoring two goals before moving on to @HibernianFC in the summer of 2008. He would only make seven appearances for the Hibees.

The one and only @KAGoalkeeping in action for @PartickThistle. Kenny played 287 times for Thistle and his contributions earned him a place in the Partick Thistle Hall of Fame. He now works as the goalkeeping coach at the club.

Ally McCoist and @alan_mahood14 playing for @KilmarnockFC in a 3-0 win over Hearts in August 1998. McCoist played 53 times for Killie in the SPL between 1998 and 2001 scoring nine goals. While, Mahood made 153 SPL appearances between 1998 and 2004.

Roberto Martinez - now manager of @selecaoportugul - playing for @MotherwellFC during his time in the SPL. He made 16 appearances for the club during the 2001/02 season before joining Walsall.

The current @CoveRangersFC manager Paul Hartley in his @StJohnstone days. He spent three seasons in Perth before making the move to Hearts in the summer of 2003.

The first ever hat-trick scored in the SPL era was by @craigburley as @CelticFC defeated Dunfermline by five goals to nil on August 1st 1998. The other goals on the day for Jo Venglos' side came from @SimonDonnelly13 and current @HibernianFC sporting director Malky Mackay.

The landmark first goal of the SPL era was scored by @RealEoinJess after 21 minutes at Dens Park as @AberdeenFC secured a 2-0 win over Dundee on August 1st 1998.
