A friend of mine bought property on Christina Lake 40 years ago for $30k. Today it’s worth $1.2 million. He’ll have to pay capital gains tax on $900k in profit. There’s about 100 other people in this town that did the same thing. None of them are “ultra wealthy”. You’re a thief.
