I don’t have the cash to β€œupgrade” to a $70K heat pump, which is what my neighbour paid to get his installed. We should be given affordable energy choices. #carbontax is punitive on middle income earners who don’t get #rebates !

@SPKolten @CherylZiola Thats similar to the quote I got as well. I would have to upgrade the main power line to the house and that was nearly 20k then heat pump cost and new electrical panel costs and labor.

@SPKolten @CherylZiola Obviously not true. $10k-$20k average. As for power requirements, depending on size of home, probably somewhere between an electric range and a large hot tub. Obviously if somebody has a puny service it might be an issue, but for most people it will be fine.

@SPKolten @CherylZiola Well $70k for a underground loop geothermal heatpump system, would not be unheard of. But that system is much more responsive to colder temps and rums much more efficiently than electric ones, that are $17k.
