Unfornately the schools don't take action until after a tragedy due to PR/publicity problems! Especially crimes associated with bullying, cyberbulling, violence, sexual abuse, or mental health issues. Then we see help, awareness, & advocating (IMO). #bullying #13ReasonsWhyS2

A link on the school website for bullying/mental health and the student to counselor ratio is high! I needed to LISTEN, educate myself, learn more, and SUPPORT my child in middle school with bullying & MHA. Where's the support & resources in school for these problems?

We are taught at a very young age to respect and obey authority. What if they are the ones abusing the power with words!?!?! It's unfortunate that my child had her first experience in 6th grade. All it takes is one teacher, one time for distrust down the road for all the others.

😀LCPS sent out a release via email about "13 Reasons Why" and the impact it can have on students with the implications that the series depicts in comparison to real life daily struggles of teenagers. 👏 Though issues with Mental Health, Bullying and SPED are far less mentioned-

Speech and Language Disorder and Sensory Disorder both fall under "S" and are a "Specific Learning Disability" by the Virginia Department of Education as well. My child has a SL disorder and I'm so proud of her! Laughing and smiling are contagious! Spread it around! 😁😆
