Ukrainian Special Operations Forces recently conducted a successful raid on a russian position near the border. During the operation, four russian soldiers were eliminated, and one was captured. 🇺🇦Ukrainian SOF. Always Beyond!

10/10 Over a week of intricate planning was executed in just a few adrenaline-fueled minutes. Tomas's body was successfully delivered to a waiting medevac team and then to his unit's medics. The Ukrainian SOF task force completed the mission without any losses or injuries.

9/10.Four minutes after their approach, the enemy opened chaotic fire. SOF operators quickly suppressed firing points, eliminating several enemy soldiers. They loaded Tomas's body and began exfiltration under a hail of mortar fire.

8/10.Under the cover of poor weather, SOF operators advanced on buggies and set up an all-around defense. Two soldiers then quietly crept to the body, identified it, checked for enemy booby traps, and prepared it for evacuation.

7/10.This multi-layered operation was a masterclass in tactical deception. The SOF tactical group was divided by function – logistics, observation, planning, medevac, and the direct approach to the body – ensuring seamless coordination.

6/10.Preparation for "Operation Envoy" began immediately and spanned over a week. Every single detail was meticulously accounted for: weather, routes, camouflage, fire cover, exfiltration, diversionary maneuvers, and EW operations. SOF even trained on similar terrain.

5/10.A Ukrainian SOF task force, already conducting special reconnaissance in the same area, was asked for help. After assessing the grim situation, they determined that retrieving the body was, against all odds, possible.

4/10.To make things even tougher, enemy forces had advanced and set up three positions around Tomas's location. The closest was mere dozens of meters away. A perilous retrieval challenge.

3/10.The fallen warrior was Tomas Valentėlis, a Lithuanian volunteer with the Ukrainian Ground Forces' Foreign Legion. His body had laid in a trench for weeks after his group was hit by FPV drones & artillery. His unit had to retreat under heavy fire.

2/10.Operators from the 8th Regiment knew the immense danger. This mission meant moving in small groups, right under the enemy's nose, on the front line. No illusions about the complexity here.
