As we head into Mid-August, the chances of precipitation do not appear to be very high, with the next 7-10 days looking rather hot and dry. Sprinklers going to be working overtime to keep those lawns green!

All things considered, a rather comfortable summer day out there. A bit of wildfire smoke in the sky again, but not as bad as the last few days

Enjoy the comfortable next few days because the HEAT returns next week. Heat wave is a very real possibility starting Sunday in many areas 🔥

Strong NE wind today will also push out the near-surface smoke that has contributed to poor air quality

Not exactly a warm day today along the coast with a strong NE wind. Mid 80s inland, but likely no higher than the mid 70s along the coast. Some high clouds today as well mixed in with the smoke

Definitely a hazy/milky appearance to the sky today with the wildfire smoke. Gets worse later this afternoon before it gets better

Air quality could certainly be an issue tomorrow as wildfire smoke moves in from the NW.

Another absolutely stunning day out there- low 80s and full sun! Little bit of haze in the sky from wildfire smoke coming in from Canada, but with low humidity it is gorgeous out ☀️

Skies are clearing this morning after the rain overnight, setting up for a gorgeous afternoon with temps near 70 and low humidity. Almost September-esque

Stationary front crawling across the region. Not a fun evening commute esp N&W

That’s a very impressive storm for Northern New Jersey. Definitely a dangerous look…

Appears to be a very strong cell headed toward NYC from the west. A severe risk with the storms today south of the cold front in SW SNE and the Mid Atlantic

Atmosphere is primed for downpours today. Already seeing numerous very heavy downpours show up in SNE and this will continue throughout the day

A seriously amazing weekend on the way with high pressure in control, a much less humid flow from the NW, and refreshing temperatures topping out near 80. Hard to beat!! ☀️

Not a bad morning out there with much cooler temps than yesterday and some clouds, but heavy rain moves in this afternoon. Evening commute does not look very fun with scattered downpours across the region 🌧️

Definitely a high risk of FLASH FLOODING tomorrow in the DC-NYC corridor. Very high PWATs and a stalled front will create slow moving downpours over the area. Heavy rain likely in SNE as well, though with lower PWATs the risk of flooding is not as high

Steadier rain tomorrow night into Friday, with localized flooding possible where heaviest bands set up. Looking likely that is somewhere in SW SNE into NNJ

Major drop in temperatures tonight as our front moves in to the area. Scattered showers around tomorrow morning before heavier rain overspreads the region Thursday night
