Hi all, I feel like it's time to start the beta for the user dashboards. There's still a long way to go, but this is a solid start for you all to try it out. This thread will contain the instructions on how to set this all up!

Hi everyone! It has been a very long time, and SMG has been riddled with major bugs for a while. I am working on a newsletter to explain what's going on. In short: I will be focusing my efforts on revitalizing SMG. Stay tuned :)

As previously reported, Soundtrack is being shut down on July 17th due to 'limited use from the Twitch Community'. Twitch now officially recommends @Pretzel_Rocks @NCSounds @chillhopdotcom + Outertone by @routenote. #TwitchNews #TOSgg
Twitch Soundtrack is being shut down. Soundtrack was launched in September 2020 as a solution to a wave of DMCAs that struck streamers in the summer of 2020. https://t.co/9znE9eN4oE

I'm looking at bluesky and Mastodon as my first alternatives. Perhaps discord is the way to go? Let me know what your think as well :)

The past few days with the new algorithm are affecting me deeply. There are wrongs within this world that need to be seen and discussed, but all of them at the same time? It's too much for me.

I'm going to move away from Twitter. I'll remain active here until I find a suitable replacement. Work on SMG will continue as usual. Nothing changing there.

Remember, the widget is only optimized for the Spotify web player at the moment. Other players do work, but album art and artists will not show up for most music players.

That's it! You can now place the widget where you want. Whenever SMG picks up a new song, the widget will change. SMG needs to be running, the widget will not do anything on its own.

6. If you want, you can set "Page permissions" to "No access to OBS" since the widget should not control OBS whatsoever. It should not make a difference

Keep the FPS at 30, since the music player will use a scrolling animation for songs with long titles.

3. In the properties window, tick the "Local file" checkbox and select the music-player-dark.html file. You should be able to find it in C:/Program Files (x86)/SMG Music Display/widgets Mine is in a completely different location, so ignore the location in the image

In your SMG installation directory there's a new folder called "widgets" with a file 'music-player-dark.html' in it. You can open the file in Firefox or Chrome to preview the music player widget. Play some music on SMG and it will automatically update to the current song.
