Great conversation with @JoeVennare on @fittinsider about building @joinsuppco and the challenges in the supplement industry. We discussed our 29-point TrustScore system, balancing science with personal experimentation, and why transparency matters when 74% of Americans take.

Exciting to see @joinsuppco’s creatine testing work featured in @theinformation today. We found 2 of the top-selling brands on Amazon contained little to no actual creatine. Consumers deserve transparency in supplements 📷📷.

🚨 We just tested 11 popular creatine supplements from Amazon and what we found may shock you. 4 out of 6 creatine gummies contained essentially ZERO creatine. Over 50,000 people bought these failing products on Amazon last month alone. Time to share our findings 🧵

🚨 @WIRED went deep after our @joinsuppco creatine study dropped. 4 of 6 top creatine gummies on Amazon contain almost ZERO creatine. The #1 product would require eating 2,000 gummies for one serving.

We're not here to bash brands. We're here to bring transparency. Force Factor and Create proved the gummy form factor can work. They delivered real doses despite the format challenges. But 67% failure rate? That's an industry and Amazon problem. This is just the beginning.

We also found something reassuring:. Our TrustScore rating system which tracks 29 supplement quality attributes scored the failing products lowest out of the set. All 4 failing gummies had LOW TrustScores on our platform. The 2 gummies that passed (Force Factor & Create) had

The good news? Every single powder we tested delivered!. ~5g per serving, high purity, minimal degradation. Powders remain the gold standard.

Here's the kicker:. These failing gummies have BETTER Amazon ratings (4.3-4.7 stars) than the real gummies we tested (3.8-4.3 stars). Why? Probably because they're basically just candy. Creatine tastes bitter. No creatine taste = happier reviews. The real gummies that actually

The worst offenders were all Amazon best-sellers, each of which claimed 5 grams of creatine:. To get an actual 5g dose from one of the brands, you'd need to eat 2,000 gummies. I'm not joking.

Here's what happened:. We (@joinsuppco) bought creatine products off the shelf, no special treatment, just like you would. Then we sent them to an independent ISO-certified lab. The powders? All legit ✅. The gummies? 67% contained trace amounts or NO CREATINE at all. ❌.

In 2023 I took a 12-month hiatus to recharge after building startups nonstop since graduating college. During that period of time, I had a rule that I would only commit to something if its gravitational force was completely inescapable. The opportunity to join USV was that thing.
