There has been a lifeboat station in Shoreham Harbour for 160 years. The station was rebuilt in 2010 to house its state of the art Tamar all weather lifeboat.

Despite the attempts of the lifeboat crews & other emergency services, sadly a woman aged in her 50s was confirmed to have died. Our thoughts are with her family and friends at this incredibly difficult time #RNLI

Assisted by @ShorehamCG, a coastguard helicopter & other emergency services, the casualty was brought ashore.

Both of our lifeboats were launched on Monday night to assist @RNLIBrighton in a search for a missing person seen to go into the water at Hove. Our inshore lifeboat crew located the casualty unresponsive in the water.

Our all weather lifeboat launched to the aid of a broken down 25ft yacht on Sunday morning. The vessel with 3 people on board was located 3.5 nautical miles south west of Shoreham Harbour with a broken rudder & steering failure. We towed the yacht back into the harbour #RNLI

Our inshore lifeboat launched to a vulnerable person on the groyne at Lancing Beach on Tuesday evening. Our crew & the coastguard team managed to bring the person ashore & hand them to the emergency services. * Our lifeboats launch for a training exercise on Wednesday 5.30pm.

Our all weather lifeboat was launched for its 2nd service of the day to a person believed to be in the water on Saturday night. We searched into the early hours from Shoreham to Lancing assisted by @LhamptonCG @sussex_police Nothing was found & they were stood down #RNLI

There was then another report that a further person was also in the water in difficulty. We launched our all weather lifeboat to carry out a search & we were assisted by the coastguard helicopter. After 2 hours, the search was stood down after nothing was found #RNLI

Our lifeboats were launched in the early hours of Saturday to a report of a person in the water west of Shoreham Harbour entrance. The inshore lifeboat was initially tasked first to the casualty, who managed to get ashore.

Our all weather lifeboat launched on Monday night to the aid of a broken down yacht south of Goring. The vessel with 3 people on board was in difficulty in windy, squally conditions. We escorted the 11 metre yacht to Shoreham Harbour & then towed her through the locks #RNLI

Our all weather lifeboat was called to a disoriented yachtsman 8 miles south west of Shoreham early on Sunday. He was having difficulty navigating his vessel on passage from Southampton to Sherness in Kent.

📟 Our inshore lifeboat launched on Saturday afternoon to a person in difficulty in the water near Worthing Pier. As we reached the scene, it was established that they had made their way back to the shore & were with @ShorehamCG We stood down & returned to station #RNLI
