The final push is on. Thank you for your terrific support, especially in response to the many personal attack ads. Your decency shines through. Help spread the word and let others know a small group with deep pockets, playing dirty politics don't decide this election - You do.

Negative smear tactics have no place in any election, against any candidate. Thanks for the overwhelming support from residents since this hit. It’s appalling, and you’ve called it out. These tactics divide community, diminish democracy.

Some residents and women's advocates say they're disturbed by a flyer portraying a Burlington mayoral candidate as calculated, manipulative and bad at math.

@Ward2Lisa Wonderful. We believe in @Ward2Lisa ‘s #integrity and have our support for #Ward2Councillor . The candidates and trolls that distributed and capitalized on the lies should now apologize. But they won’t. Because they don’t have integrity. #dtburlon #burlont #voteforchange

I proudly stand up for myself and my integrity. As I’ve previously stated, all my email communication lists were attained with permission including these Ward 2 residents who wrote the clerk. I believe they simply forgot they signed up on the newsletter form. #integrity

I don't remember asking to remove all the commercial properties bigger than an office? Or to reduce parking standards? You don't get it - the city should be designed for the people living in it - not to create GO train hostages for spreadsheets in Toronto.

Retail assassination. Developers and our city planners want to build towers in place of retail on Brant. Spaces left empty 1 yr already until they get their way. Likely 3 to 5 more years empty. That’s murder for retail, community & quality of life here. Sad. #savedtburlon

@phlpwbb Yep. We saw that too. Burlington is all grown up now and so this is the new reality. We need accountability sewn into the City Planning and Council as they have their own agendas, and influencers. #takebackburlington

@CityLandSea @CentroGarden @shannonlg88 @KellysBake @AniseApoth Height extends build duration. Extended time = suffering. Height creates shade. Street shade = reduced retail success. Height requires infrastructure updates. Updates = street closures disturbing shopper behavior. Height reduces street level retail, creates dull dead space. More?

UPDATE: City council + planning have been saying downtown was mandated by Province to be a Mobility Hub. They used this to justify intensity and height. After recent questioning, city now admits that there was no mandate - no correspondence with prov. Was it made up by council?

Councilor @JackDennison4 recently voted to approve 23 story tower in #dtburlont - a move that has reinforced conditions to inflate land prices, push out retailers and destabilize zoning protection from unreasonable development. Why? Perhaps he’s a developer? #takebackBurlington

Committee decided to have further dialogue on downtown & whole OP before we approve anything. Your input mattered & directly contributed to this outcome. In the next week staff will outline an extended timeline for approval of new Official Plan & downtown policies. Stay tuned 2/2

Planning staff recommend Emerald & St. Luke’s neighbourhoods and all low density downtown neighbourhoods include semi-detached. @CoreResidents

Neighbours, this is it. If you don’t make an effort to stop council from changing your zoning your hood will be forever unprotected from big and intense development. What you have is at risk now. Tell the city NO to changing zoning and Precinct boundaries.

Hey St. Luke’s Precinct @SLPrecinct , councilors @PaulSharman1 and others want tall towers in #dtburlont and now to change your zoning and boundary to allow towers and high density townhomes in your hood too. For real. But you can stop him. Get involved:

Will approved and coming towers create retail deserts in Burlington's downtown? Should 'Grow Bold' be more than about towers on a podium?
