It appears the man was near The Wheelhouse and also on Washington Avenue when he set off fireworks into a crowd. At one point in the video, he was a passenger in a car when he tossed a firework at a vehicle at an intersection.

Earlier this week, the #SLMPD was alerted to a video posted to social media showing a man intentionally throwing fireworks at people and property over the weekend. We immediately initiated a Bomb and Arson investigation, which remains ongoing.

The Circuit Attorney's Office issued charges against an 18-year-old man for 2 counts of Unlawful Possession of Illegal Weapon. The two juveniles were taken to Juvenile Detention.

When officers arrived, they saw several individuals wearing ski masks and man bags. These guns, two of which are equipped with conversion devices (making them fully automatic) were taken off the streets. Officers also seized these fireworks.

We continue to increase our police presence in Fox Park where there was a shooting late last month. Over the holiday weekend, District 3 officers received calls for individuals firing guns and discharging fireworks in the park. Three adults &two juveniles were taken into custody.

We are on scene investigating now. It appears a group of juveniles were playing with a gun when it discharged. A 12-year-old has been taken into custody. #SLMPD.

District 3 officers are responding to a shooting incident involving a child in the 3400 block of Cherokee. It happened around 7:30PM. The child is being rushed to the hospital in a police SUV. PIO is responding. #SLMPD

During our holiday operation, #SLMPD officers have taken 86 people into custody -- most of them were juveniles. Many of the citations are related to fireworks as we put a dent in the so-called 'fireworks wars.' . Parents were cited when they picked up their child.

2am update: 4 total arrests this evening, two being juveniles. Two firearms were seized.
