I’m most happy when I’m learning & this week was FILLED with it! Plus I got to do some of my favorite things. Creativity & design ✅.Plan ✅.Organize ✅.Photograph & video ✅.Meet new people ✅.Collaborate ✅.Interact with students ✅ .I’d say week 1 was a success.

Positive feedback needs to be specific too or it’s meaningless. It also builds culture, capacity, and improvement from individuals who are already top performing.

I said, “okay, I apologize if you did not like my note, I won’t leave you another one. I just wanted you to know I love you” s -“I don’t care”.

One of my kids wrote me an “I hate u” note and left it on my desk before resource. I got my pinky sticky and wrote “I love you” and put it on her desk. She came back & said “Don’t you dare write me another note and put it on my desk.”.

In reading Ss should be reading & writing high quality content. Include phonics, vocabulary, etc. and in content students should be creating/ “doing” content. We can’t continue to say Ss don’t know if we’re not giving them an opportunity to truly learn it.

How can we push for intervention when the majority of Ss aren’t performing? We need to analyze our tier I instruction & I promise the answer is NOT removing content but actually having more of it.

As an education system we have done the biggest disservice to the most deserving students by extending reading & math blocks & cutting content time in hopes Ss will become better readers.

Actually I lied. This wouldn’t be a “PD day” this would be incorporated in my weekly work schedule. Can you imagine how we could transform education if feedback wasn’t an “I got you” & there was time built in for authentic learning for educator?!.

Present to me a “standard” if you will & a student who didn’t meet it. Let me research why & collaboratively brainstorm solutions. Then let me practice implementing.
