I'd wager more than a decade, more like 2. 2008 was the start of the MCU. You can see in prior years the last gasps of giving a damn and becoming CGI slop with Pirates of the Caribbean and Transformers. Just before those you had RotS, War of the Worlds.
So the fam watched the original Santa Clause last night. It is not a great film, but I love it, it is a fun family favorite. But watching it last night I kept noticing the lighting, the blocking, the pacing, the emotinal beats, all the production details and it occured to me

Yes, we do. A patriotic discount on a patriotic day for a shared national treasure is better than further dividing us. All Americans can and should support it fully, as it celebrates our shared freedoms. Moreover, MLK Day and Juneteenth still exist.
