I am trying to think outside of the box to bring #outdoored into the classroom. For our scaled furniture project we gathered materials in the woods next to the school yesterday, and today we started building to the scaled drawings. Messy and amazing!

For our 1st end-of-week reflection, the activity the majority of students chose was the open-ended tour of the classroom. Students are naturally curious and want to explore. My goal is to include outdoor activities into our ExploringTech program. Looking for ideas @RangerRidley.

I invited students to explore every nook of our classroom and share something interesting on Jamboard. It is an old Tech room, hence many secret treasures! Top choices: 7" vinyls, 3D printer, model bridge w/ working electronics, bracelets (from a prev. jewellery making course).

The 2022-23 year is full of hope with a return to 'normal'. I had two grade nine classes today, and their enthusiasm inspired me tremendously. Unknowing to me, a student was sketching me while we were engaging in introductory activities. My heart soared!
