Patrol responded to a report of a convicted felon armed with a shotgun inside a structure behind a house. There was an elderly relative inside with him. Officers rescued the elderly man, negotiated the suspect's peaceful surrender, and recovered the shotgun. Happy Thanksgiving!

I am thankful to have a Mayor, City Council and City Manager who value public safety. I am also thankful for the incredible support we get from our community. And, most of all, I am thankful for the incredible men and women of the San Jose Police Department!!!
Today, let’s all give thanks to @SanJosePD for making San Jose the safest big city in the nation! Our officers sacrifice time with their own families to keep our families safe — and for that, I am eternally grateful.
