Today we honor the extraordinary life and activism of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Dr. King lead the nonviolent Civil Rights Movement that helped end legal segregation and secure landmark laws like the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the Voting Rights Act of 1965.

Today was my last full day as the SDPOA President, thank you all for the support! In two weeks I will be starting as the Motor Lieutenant, so watching every episode of CHIPS as a kid 10x is about to pay off!

This afternoon, SDPD officers in Balboa Park were fired upon by an armed suspect. Officers returned fire and are unharmed. The suspect is in custody. Grateful for their courage as they protect our community.
