In addition the tires mounted on the front axle of a motor vehicle of 10 passenger or more capacity or exceeding a gross weight of 26,000 pounds shall have a minimum tread depth of not less than 3/32nds of an inch on any two adjacent tread grooves. #keepsdsafe.

It is always a good idea to regularly check your tire pressure and tire’s tread depth, especially before long road trips. South Dakota law requires 2/32nds of an inch on any two adjacent tread grooves.
