Dr. Coleman is a proud graduate of Scottsboro High School and received her AD at Northeast, BS at Alabama A&M, Doctorate at the University of Phoenix. Dr. Coleman has 24 years in public education and Career Tech education, with 19 of those years served at Scottsboro City Schools.

Mrs. Sommers has spent all 19 years of her tenure in Scottsboro City Schools and in Career Tech Education. When asked who/what drew you into CTE and who inspired you to work in CTE, Mrs. Sommers stated "CTE was a natural fit for me since my background was in business and industry.

starting a Business Education program at SJHS, and began working there in August 2004. Mrs. Sommers has gone on to earn her M.Ed. in Business Education from Alabama A&M University and an Ed.S. in Teacher Leadership from the University of West Alabama.

Mrs. Sommers graduated from Shaw High School in Mobile, AL. and attended the University of Montevallo, and earned a BBA degree in Finance. Upon graduation, Mrs. Sommers worked for 6 years as an accountant at TELKO Enterprises, Inc. and Mead. Mrs. Sommers was contacted about cont.

Our Career Coach is vital to help guide our students into a career path that best suits their interests and goals. Mrs. Sommers is passionate about our kids and their futures! She has implemented wonderful programs like "Career Cafe", CTE Open House, and our upcoming "Adulting".
