Ed Smith 3rd Grade enjoyed a Science trip to Baltimore Woods today where the caught aquatic benthic macro invertebrates and determined the quality of the stream. Enjoyed a nature hike in several habitats and played a nature game. A great day.

H. W. Smith Kindergarten classes visit the Zoo for their science field trip. They learn about what animals eat based on clues from their teeth. The terms carnivore, herbivore and Omnivore are reviewed. The students pack a lunch for a zoo animal. They also meet Egon, Eagle Owl.

Syracuse Latin 4th grade students enjoyed NITC lessons today. The reviewed ecosystems, food chains, and had a chance to see a taxidermy Cooper Hawk. They had an outdoor activity that explored DDT as it moved through a good chain. A great lesson and time for all students.

Salem Hyde Kindergarten students visit the Zoo today where they learned about what animals eat, helped to pack lunches for animals on the laminated cards as an activity, identified where their animals lived on a world map and met a Komodo dragon named Noga. A great morning.

Montessori at Lemoyne 1-3grade classes enjoy their NITC lesson today on Aquatic Benthic Macro Invertebrates where they discussed adaptations, observed actual pond creatures like Dobsonfly larvae, leech, diving Beatles, etc. The class also designed their own creature.
