I had to drive for 3 hours today and it really didn’t help my back situation. I was supposed to run 12 miles tomorrow, and I have a 18 mile race on the 23rd. If I can’t run in the next couple of days, I’m going to be in very bad shape for my race. I am displeased.

I have a herniated disc in my L5, S1 vertebrae. I’ve had it since I was 19 years old, and every now and then it flares up. Now is one of those times, and it sucks!. I really need to be running. I have my first race in a really long time coming up, and I need to be training.

My dad slept on a pullout couch for nine years so my sister and I could have our own bedrooms. This was back in the late 90s, early 2000s. I can only imagine how hard it is for a single parent today.
