Today, for Forest School, the forest came to the classroom! ☔️ The children explored signs of Autumn, created their forest promise, made leaf rubbing pictures, Autumn fingerprint pictures and even drew pictures of leaves in detail. 🍂🍂🍂🍂🍂🍂🍂🍂🍂🍂🍂🍂🍂🍂🍂

Today in English, the children begun exploring the traditional tale, Little Red Riding Hood. We read the story and begun creating actions for the different parts.

The children have had a wonderful week learning about dinosaurs. They have created dinosaur worlds, drawn their own dinosaurs and even decided what to feed them for dinner. 🦖🦕 Homework is on Tapestry. Have a great weekend.

We have had a wonderful European Day of Languages, learning all about Portugal. We had a special visitor this morning who taught us a Portuguese song and some words. We even tried some Pastel De Nata. 🇵🇹

Tomorrow, Thursday 26th September, we will be celebrating ‘Languages Day’. An opportunity to raise awareness about language learning and linguistic diversity! The children will be exploring different countries and completing a range of fun activities in celebration of this event

Today in Maths, the children explored sorting techniques with different objects. They chose different ways to sort objects and their friends had to guess how they had done it.

In English, the children have enjoyed exploring the new text Dinosaur Roar. They enjoyed making up actions for the different vocabulary in the book and are excited about continuing to learn about dinosaurs.

Today in history, the children talked about their extended families and grandparents. It was lovely to hear all the different names the children use such as; grandma, nanny, nan, pops, gg grandad and grandpa. They then drew their families including pets! 😊

What a beautiful afternoon for Forest School ☀️🌳. The children explored the forest. They found lots of bugs, twigs and leaves. They even spotted a squirrel. Mrs Grimshaw read them a story about owls and they all enjoyed a snack outdoors ☀️

Another great week in Reception B. Today the children talked about the characters in The Little Red Hen and how the hen felt when the other animals wouldn’t help her. They continued to write words in phonics including; Tim, Sam, am, sat and sit! Amazing. 🙌

Today in RE, the children discussed birthdays and how some people may celebrate them. They made cards and decorations to represent the birthday celebrations

Today in History, the children explored the text, Peepo. They discussed families and how all families are different. They explored the illustrations and were surprised to see an outside toilet and a tub for a bath! 🛀

So excited to start phonics today with the children! They really enjoyed it and they all learnt how to read the word, mat 😊 We have also discussed the location of our school, the address and what is in the surrounding area 🏫 🌳 🏬

Today, we went for a walk around the school grounds and explored all the different areas, including the different playgrounds and the forest! The children enjoyed an ice lolly for their snack this afternoon to cool down. We have had a wonderful week. Have a lovely week.☀️

We started learning the story of the ‘Little Red Hen’ today. The children enjoyed learning some actions and animal voices, to begin retelling the story.

The children have had a fantastic first day in Reception! They all drew pictures of themselves for our floor book and had lots of fun exploring the indoor and outdoor classrooms. 😊☀️
