This all seems curious. I want to buy a Tesla — I just want to schedule the pickup at a time that works. They're squeezing me for a couple hundred dollars when I'm prepared to pay them tens of thousands. Shouldn't they at least take my money before being buttholes?

As I was camping with limited cell service and this seemed unreasonable (why was it sent on a Saturday morning with a Sunday deadline?), I figured I would handle on Monday. Today, when I logged into my account, I discovered my order (and deposit) has been canceled.

Tesla texted at 9 am on Saturday (while I was camping) saying I had to schedule a pickup by Sunday at 4 pm for this week. I said I couldn't make it to Portland this week, and suggested we schedule for May. They said if I didn't pick up this week I would lose my deposit.

I was assigned for a time for my "delivery" (once again, that is actually a pick up), which I couldn't make, as I had meetings that week and couldn't fly to PDX. I figured I'd schedule delivery for when I could fly to Portland in the coming weeks.

I talked to my service representative, who said he would look into option and get back to me by end of the day. I haven't heard from him since (it's been three weeks), and he hasn't returned any of my calls or voicemails.

I paid a non-refundable deposit on a Model 3, which the site said would be available for "delivery" the next week.I found out "delivery" meant "pickup," and the nearest pickup was a five hour drive away (I'm in Ashland, OR; dealership is in Portland).

Anyone else have extreme negative experience with @Tesla's bullying tactics while trying to order a car? Here's a couple (of many) things that have happened to me over the last three weeks — a 🧵:
