From today, Australian workers now have the Right to Disconnect. Workers now have the right to reasonably refuse out-of-hours calls and emails, reinforcing the importance of work-life balance. 3/3

The advent of technology has meant it's become almost 'too easy' for workers to be contactable 24/7. The blurring of boundaries between work and personal time is insidious. 2/3

It used to be that if your boss wanted to hassle you outside of work, they needed to call your landline or show up at your house... 1/3

If your super hasn't been paid, that's wage theft, & the chances are you're not the only one who hasn't been paid properly. So speak with your workmates and your union to get all of your entitlements back-paid.

Check your payslip, but also check that your super account has had the money paid into it.

The Superannuation Guarantee increase could make a big difference to your super balance when you retire. For example, a 40-year-old who earns $76,000 per year before tax, excluding super and has a balance of $84,000 will have an extra $13,000 in super when they retire.

The Superannuation Guarantee is the minimum amount that employers must pay into super. Remember that if your employer doesn't pay the increased amount, they are stealing from you.

Easter in SA looks a little different this year. That's because unions won our campaign to make Easter Sunday a Public Holiday. Thanks to the union members from @SDAunion, @ANMFSA & @UnitedWorkersOz. If you're rostered on this weekend, public holiday conditions apply.

“This thinking should have left the boardroom at the same time as the fax machine,” she said. “The minimum wage was increased by the biggest amount in over 40 years last year, yet inflation dropped by 3.7 per cent over the period.”

It's a big step in the right direction, but there's still more to be done, and SA Unions backs the call for mandatory working with children checks, to ensure all minors in workplaces are safe.

his new legislation will prevent child sex offenders from working anywhere where there are minors present. These new laws are the first of their kind in the nation and come from the tireless campaign efforts of the members of The SDA and Connie Bonaros MLC.

When you go to work, you have the right to safety. For too long our laws have let young people down in the workplace.

If you believe that your super entitlements have been stolen from you, get in contact with your union to talk about the best way to recover your pay. #AustralianSuper have produced a handy article to show the steps for recovering super. https://t.co/skSSbhCRKO

Every year, millions of workers have super entitlements stolen from them & it often takes a long time to realise what hasn't been paid. Remember also, that any time you are underpaid & receive back pay, it's important to check that super has also been paid on that sum too.

Even with these historic wins, the job's not done. Women still face inequality, discrimination and violence. This is why we must keep fighting for change, and the best way to do that is by joining your union sisters! https://t.co/erQ7VczPBx
