Great to appoint consultant no.22 in anaesthesia yesterday following induction with 30 new staff. Today as a system we test the winter plan and how this will help manage demand over the next 4 months.

Meeting with Richard Partington and Clive Jones from Telford and Wrekin council today to explore building further on the existing strong work between our teams in our community. It is crucial we look to support patients to remain independent and healthy by working together.

This year will see the first new ward to offer extra acute beds in over 5 yrs.The demand has outstripped our capacity & we have been left struggling to cope. Keeping our hospitals open for Everyone Has seen corridor care occurring & needs to end on our wards. #togetherweachieve

Stopping corridor care at SaTH on our wards has to be a singular focus https://t.co/jHbiiSH8Fk’s become too common place & no one wants to see it continue. Getting our wards working normally again will help ease the challenges in aed too
