Contact made, thank you for your kind words @rockinangeluk. Always nice to be able to engage with the community outside of when they have need of us.
I’m hoping to trace the 4 ambulance crew that were blue lights training at South Queensferry this morning. They made a 16yr old boy with #autism the happiest kid in the world @Scotambservice @jodiecraig94 is there anyone can help@me trace them? I have photos to send to them.

ETECH 03/20 have all passed their clinical element (a handful with a week’s driving still to go) and are heading into the Divisional world. Well done guys and gals! Next up: welcoming qualified staff from elsewhere in the UK/world to SAS, and then beginning new ACA/VQ courses.

All change next week as the driving students return to complete their clinical training and the clinical students hit the road! Well done to all including these folk who have been driving from Grangemouth. The hard work and the tears of frustration WERE worth it in the end!

Time flies when you’re having fun, here concludes week 2! Students have been learning about the range of equipment we have to assist bariatric patients and how to take basic observations. Meanwhile driving students have been out on their long drives, pictured here at The Lecht.

That’s a wrap on week one for our new cohort of VQ4 technician students. They have been busy learning techniques and how to use various pieces of equipment for safe patient handling over the last couple of days.

Today’s practical session was focussed primarily on the Personal Protective Equipment at our disposal to protect patients and staff from infection, including correct donning and doffing of the full PPE which has been required particularly in recent times.

Apologies for the Twitter silence folks, have had to have a few months off, but back on it now! This week we’ve welcomed our latest VQ4 cohort to the start of their course. It’s all rather different to normal, with the regional cohorts split in half 1/2

Yesterday saw the retirement of Iain Taylor after 35 years service with SAS. Involved in all aspects of training he is particularly known as a Legend for his driving skills and knowledge, all of which will be greatly missed. Wishing you a happy, healthy retirement, Mr T!
