rand had stolen a rare respite from the rigors of training, stretching languidly across the bed. his gaze, still hazed with sleep, settled upon layla's figure. in the white tower there was always something to take care. โ what? lan? no. i haven't seen him, truth be told. (c.).
โ . ; @S0NOFPR0PHECY . layla went into the warders' quarters, her steps purposeful. gaze swepting the room, searching until it settled upon rand. approaching him. โ have you, by any chance, seen lan? moiraine is gone. โ.โ

โ sometimes it feels as though elaida is more the threat to the white tower than even the forsaken. โ rand said with a deep frown. โ layla heard it, she can't lie. i suspect she learned that because of her closeness to moiraine. besides, layla's had her own confrontation (c.).
โ .โand for good reason.แ elaida is not to be trifled with. i'm smarter than that.โ a small grin tugged at the corners of her lips. โ โ โ โhas she.แฃ i hadnโt heard. that just means we have to be more vigilant. we'll protect elara and make sure elaida does no such thing.โ.โ .

โ i know, i saw you practically vanish the moment she stepped into the corridor. โ laughter threading through his words. โ rumors say she's determined to wipe out the blue ajah entirely, she'll have a new enemy once she learns elara will pick the blue over the brown. โ.
โ .โdo not mistake me, i don't sympathize with her. i know what she's done, and am merely familiar with her antics. with her around the white tower, we're in even more trouble. i don't trust her as far as i could throw her.โ.โ .

โ i can't say i care much for liandrin. โ his tone edged with indifference. โ but we do need layla. โ. liandrin was a red and a recently known darkfriend, layla was neither, and that made the difference.
โ they will be fine. โ her tone was more resigned than worried. โ they're like dogs yapping at each other, loud, messy. but at the end of the day, they come out of it in one piece. โ.

โ elaida made your aunt's life miserable when she was a child, a novice, and she still does. she became obsessed and even after 60 years, she still acts like a child whose toy was taken away. โ. he exhaled. โ being a man, i was never going to earn her sympathy, though. โ.
โ .โshe was my mother's advisor back in andor. you come to realize that she isn't that bad. at least until her ambition is involved. then it's time to worry.โ.โ .

โ at time, i can't tell whether it is a simply peculiar day within the white tower or if i ought to be genuinely alarmed. forsaken and darkfriends has no business in the tower, let alone should be moving freely here. โ. but light help them, rand could swear he'd seen some (c.).
โ .there's a soft snort of amusement. if only he knew. โwhat you're referring to is a normal day in the white tower. you'll grow used to it after a while. just give it time.โ.โ .

โ if moiraine gathers the other aes sedai for your test, i've no doubt it'll go more smoothly. she once told me stories about elaida. โ. but truth be told, no tale was needed to understand elaida's nature, one had only to watch her to know exactly what kind of woman she was.
โ thank you. โ a small, appreciative smile showed up. โ yes, the test will be grueling. draining in every possible way, but i'll manage. i've trained hard for this, and if there's one thing i can rely on, it's my focus. โ.
