Did you know your students can hear functions? @MinecraftMath taught us how to use the sound feature in @Desmos to help students hear/see how functions behave. @CAMT_TX. So cool.

Learned how to rewrite questions to encourage talking and exploring with @LidiaGonzalez66 , then spent 3 hours refining BTC skills with @pgliljedahl. @CAMT_TX is where the Math Peeps are at!.

Yesterday I had some wonderful Math Therapy with the amazing @TheMathGuru @CAMT_TX learning how to redefine success and failure. Everyone IS a math person!

Last day in Switzerland. It is a stunningly beautiful country and I am glad I had the opportunity to tour it with my eldest daughter.

I am over the moon proud of my AP Calc & AP Precalc kids from last year. They worked so hard and it paid off. I believed in you and you rose to the challenge. Precalc scores were .2% below global average and higher than TX avg @DrJCerna @RGC_MS_HS.

Imposter syndrome is no joke when working on your dissertation. 😢.

There is an unnerving trend in both education & the military when it comes to policy making. Those who are in position to make policy change or claim to know what’s best, served minimal to no time in that profession and refuse to listen to those with knowledge or experience.

AY 24-25 is finished. Students’ last day was today. Class of ‘25 graduates tomorrow night. 9 years of teaching under my belt. Now it’s time for some R&R, PD, and dissertation writing.

Spent 5 hours in Starbucks working on Chapters 1 and 3. I think they are fairly solid. Chapter 2 is under major renovation. This damned dissertation will be the death of me.

Pet peeve, people who use speaker phone loudly in public places like waiting areas and cafes.

I always reflect.On my teaching practices. Each year I struggle whether I should offer test corrections or retake opportunities. Many times I feel like students do not prepare for the first test knowing retakes and corrections are available. Is next year the year I say no more?.

This troubles me. Why would books about the Holocaust need to be removed? Why should we not celebrate pioneering women? Maya Angelou’s autobiography?
