In 16 games since being promoted to AAA Ivan Melendez is hitting .333 (18 for 54) with a .930 OPS & just a 23% strikeout rate. I hope we see him in Arizona in September

Seems to me like Cam Smith was hitting a lot of ground balls early on this season. Then he adjusted and started hitting more balls in the air- had a hot stretch. Now it seems like he’s underneath everything.

Lucas Spence, in his 1st full pro season, has continued to hit since being promoted to AA- his 2nd promotion & 3rd level of the season-. In 18 games at the AA level he’s hit .288/.447/.530 (.977 OPS) with 7 doubles, 3 HR, 13 RBI & 21 strikeouts/18 walks. 22 yrs old

3rd rounder Ethan Frey has had a nice start to his pro career. So far in 20 games at Class-A he’s hitting .278 with a .407 OBP, 14 RBI in those 20 games & 19 strikeouts/17 walks. The power will come- for me an elite strikeout to walk ratio is huge & a good indicator

Bryan King had a 6.35 ERA & 6.94 ERA his Sophomore & Junior seasons at McNeese. He’d already taken a regular job after college, not expecting to be drafted. Quit that job & signed for $1000 with Cubs as a 30th rounder. Now has a 2.80 career ERA out of the pen the past 2 years

Another club needs to give Justin Foscue an opportunity at the MLB level. he’s 26. Has produced in AAA repeatedly for 3 seasons w OPS’ of .862, .897 & .821 & elite strikeout to walk ratios . 2023- 70 K, 85 BB.2024- 37 K, 39 BB.2025- 49 K, 40 BB.Career in AAA- 156 K, 164 BB

Very uncomfortable looking AB for Christian Walker vs Chase Dollander. Swung at a cutter in the opposite batters box, next almost swung at a similarly placed pitch & was way late on 2 fastballs- first of which caught the heart of the plate.

Someone should inquire about Dodgers Ryan Ward this coming offseason. He’s 27 and has yet to be called up to MLB. Hitting .302 (.966 OPS) w 31 home runs & 113 RBI in AAA (last year in AAA hit .258, .861 OPS, 33 HR). 13% BB 19% K (power w those walk & K rates deserves a shot)

Tebow needed 1 more offseason & a 2nd go at AAA pitching & I think he could’ve figured it out to the point of having respectable enough numbers to get a call up to the Mets but never got the chance. Similar to the 1994 strike stopping Michael Jordan from playing in AAA.

Tim Tebow would have been an MLB player if the 2020 minor league season wasn’t cancelled . After not playing since 2005- his Jr year in high school at age 17, he picked the sport up again 11 years later in 2016. In 2018 at the AA level- he hit .273/.336/.399 (.734 OPS)

Enjoy Mike Hampton homering off Johan Santana back in 2009 during Hampton’s return to the Astros . That season Hampton hit .324 (12 for 37) with a .782 OPS . 1 of 5 seasons where he had a positive OPS+ as a hitter, meaning he was better than league avg.
