One of the hardest things of being at Cambridge is that people NEVER understand you when you say you grew up in poverty. What that comes with, what it does to someone, how it shapes someone forever, how extreme it can be. It's tiring.

I think poverty to most people is just "less than me". I don't expect people to understand and it means so much when people try to listen and learn, but that doesn't make it not so, so tiring.
