Now that we've jumped into the mid 30s this morning, you don't have to worry about anything freezing up for a while. Morning lows stay rather mild through the weekend.

Heads up for a what looks to be quite a warm up by the end of the week. Highs near 70 degrees are likely Friday & Saturday. While those don't threaten records now, one of those days could easily trend much warmer as we get closer. I'm waiting to see exactly how temps warm today.

Bitcoin and Ordinals can both be viewed as conceptual art. Bitcoin explores the concept of digital ownership. Ordinals, the concept of immaterial objects. @OnChainMonkey (OCM), expressed through a distinctive PFP, is conceptual art created around the question of how far one can

FIRST ALERT to a much warmer morning but still plenty cold enough to need a coat. Wind chills are in the 20s in spots. Clouds clear out this morning and we'll surge into the 60s later today. Should be a great one once the sun makes it's way out.

Clouds are around and temperatures have warmed quite a bit compared to yesterday. Afternoon clearing should allow us to warm into the 60s later today with a bit of a NW breeze later today too.

Very nice stretch of weather to get the Christmas lights put up this week. Warm afternoons and not a lot of wind.

Even though it has turned colder, don't forget to keep watering things. Even dormant plants need water and most of the area has had about 50% or less of the total normal precip over the last 30 days.

Everyone’s chasing AI stocks. Meanwhile, every megawatt feeding those GPUs in California has to be covered by a carbon allowance by law. California Carbon Allowances are the quiet “picks & shovels” commodity play on the AI boom.

Pretty quiet week ahead as we warm up. Keep an eye on Thu/Fri/Sat as those have been trending warmer and show signs that will continue to be the case. Rain chances by Saturday evening into Sunday. That sets us back to near average by next week.

Biggest story of a rather quiet week will be the big warm up on the way starting Tuesday afternoon. Today is easily the coldest of the week. We could be 20 degrees above average to end it.

FIRST ALERT 6 WEATHER DAYS in place this weekend for the cold too. Temps spike early afternoon near 50 Saturday then start to fall. They'll crash overnight with the wind into the 20s by Sunday morning. That's the first widespread hard freeze. Wind chills get down near 10° too.

FIRST ALERT 6 WEATHER DAYS still in place for the weekend with the precipitation all centered on Saturday. A morning round of rain 6a-12p is expected for us with the best chance of snow north of I-80 on the Iowa side. We get a chance to spike to near 50 then more spotty showers

Great weather in Los Angeles, Great weather in Ft. Worth but that forecast in Iowa City could be rough. A chilly rain with temps in the 40s. Potential for wet snow to mix in towards the end too. We'll see how the timing for that rain changes over the next few days.

It should be rather mild the rest of the week with highs in the 50s and 60s for us all. The wind will be the biggest issue each day. Just enough to be annoying. Gusts NNW 20-30 mph this morning will back off later today. South gusts 20-30 mph Thursday. NW gusts to 30 mph Friday.

FIRST ALERT 6 WEATHER DAYS still in place Sat & Sun. Rain to melting snow Sat PM likely won't amount to much more than startling snowflakes for most of the area. Bigger story is the first widespread hard freeze ahead Sun & Mon morning. Detach garden hoses for sure!
