Today, @ReneaJones4TN and I had the chance to meet with our Carter County Farm Bureau. They have been a great asset to all of us on the Hill as they help us to understand the most important issues to our farming communities.

It’s Ag Day on the Hill! Today I met with East Tennessee FFA and AG commissioner Andy Holt. Featured was this large bulldozer, which is also what we use in fighting forest fires, and which we take to other states to help as well.

By responding to the concerns of his constituents regarding the pending CON legislation, Senator Crowe’s work with Representative Hicks will help ensure patients have lower healthcare costs, less travel for care, and more choices when deciding where to receive cardiac procedures.

They are drafting an amendment to present to the Senate and House that will protect Karing Hearts Cardiology, a freestanding cardiac catheterization lab company  serving patients in Northeast Tennessee that serves so many of Senator Crowe’s constituents.

March is Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month. I was proud to support HB2089 last session, which created Tennessee’s Department of Disability and Aging to better coordinate services and provide more resources for individuals with disabilities and their families.

Today, we celebrate the women whose talent, determination, and leadership have shaped our country and strengthened our communities.

On Saturday morning, I was proud to meet with our Tennessee State Employees Association. They work so hard to serve Tennessee. Please join me in thanking them for all they do!

Today I met with the Elizabethton Boys & Girls Club, who are raising our next generation of leaders; then the Johnson City Homebuilders Association. We’re all working to provide affordable housing, and they’ve done a great job building homes in our communities. Busy day!
