If you have a guy who drops the throwing hand too low, have them work their exchange like this. Turn the glove, don't drop it.
A lot of people say you HAVE to be palm up/palm down during exchange. This video clearly shows that isn’t the case. Pitch location & natural preference will dictate how your hands are positioned and sometimes, your fingers will be pointing up. #catchertraining #catchers

I don't see how we stop the arm injury epidemic if teams continue to have 11-12 man rosters at the youth level. 4-6 games in 72 hours and if you're not pitching you're playing the field. By Sunday their legs are shot making poor mechanics worse.

Freshman year, my catcher did this to me. I crossed him like three times in 5 innings. He walked halfway to the mound, looked toward first, and threw it back right at my knees. Met me on the bump and said, "Hey, rook, don't EVER f'ing cross me up again." I did not do it again.
"If I'm Salazar, I'm rifling that son of a gun right at his knees." @AJPierzynski12 says a grown man conversation with Framber Valdez would be had if what he did was intentional.

If you're playing or coaching fall ball it may get ugly and that's ok. It's a time to work on areas of the game we struggle with. Be patient w/ yourself, players, and teammates. Failure now can lead to huge success when we start playing for things that matter.

One of my biggest regrets in baseball is that I dipped for about 35 years. Wasted thousands of dollars on something that could kill me. I'm 90 days tobacco-free today. Freshmen, don't do it. Don't think about doing it. I promise you none of it is worth it.

If you're a younger coach and want to keep coaching in college, it's a really bad look to throw shade at"lower" divisions. You never know where your next job is going to come from.

Not taking away from Torkelson, but this isn't a DP w/out Baez and his footwork around the bag. A quiet shuffle from inside to outside the bag, a quick turn of the feet and hips, and a laser back to 1st. Nothing flashy, but an excellent play.
