This is appalling. Chief Constables are operationally independent of politicians. If CC Harrington has taken orders from the Prime Minister then his position is untenable. He must resign immediately. @Hirst4EssexPFCC.
Essex Police Chief Constable Ben-Julian Harrington has refused to resign. As he said he was just carrying out orders from Keir Starmer.
