CHI's not a good team, but yesterday was important for habit building. LA's not an athletic team. They can't change that. But they can control is playing w/ a consistent motor. Vando's role fluctuates, but he's a nice alternative to LaRavia - especially if JL's missing shots.

A few follow-up examples. 1) LeBron cleans up on the glass after a Kennard miss. Helps that there was less congestion in the paint due to CHI doubling Luka near halfcourt. 2) Poor Richards. Vando beats him for the OREB, then Kennard hits a 3 over him. Huge swing play for LA.
The first half of the 3rd quarter was as locked in on defense as I've seen LeBron be in quite some time.

You can't take NBA Twitter/Reddit's outrage towards Laker fans over the Bam game seriously when they are the same monolith that unironically stanned and celebrated Enes Kanter/Fox News for going after LeBron. They don't want nuance. They just want to hate on LA and its fans tbh.

Really nice effort by Ayton here. LA starts a fastbreak as Ayton sprints down the court. He's the first to get there and immediately bullies/seals Miller under the rim. Miller fouls Ayton to prevent the easy basket.

Again, Kennard with some sauce in his game. He gets the ball coming off a Timme screen. Dillingham runs Kennard off the 3PT line and funnels him towards Richards in drop. Looks like he goes up to shoot, but suddenly makes the pass through a very tight window to an open Timme.

Chicago w/ a hard hedge on Luka leads to an Ayton short roll. DA kicks out to AR, ball swings to Bron for the open corner 3. DA then immediately sprints to crash the boards, beats three Bulls for the OREB. Rui flashes to the FT line and hits the open jumper off of DA's pass.

Again, AR and DA seem to share a similar wavelength out there. Not sure how AR managed to get a pass off, but DA was ready for that - either crashing for a rebound or getting his hands up for a pass. AR got DA involved early/often, and it paid dividends the rest of the game.

Thread: The Lakers got an engaged Ayton again tonight. Just before this play, AR got Ayton an easy basket at the rim w/ a dump-off pass. Made sure Ayton felt involved. Here, Ayton outworks the Bulls after AR's miss, tips the OREB to himself, and then scores on the putback.

I mean, I get it. But this is also how players potentially get hurt at the end of a game randomly like Maxey.

This tweet will probably mean nothing to 95% of people, but I'm not at all pressed about Ed in SF6. Main reason is because the Ed's that I play in the High Master range are nowhere near good at optimizing him.

Mini-thread on how better things look when the Lakers get an *engaged* Ayton. Even though I suspect DA opts into next season, this thread isn't to suggest LA can 'fix' him. The point is imagine LA upgrading from DA to a big whose motor/focus is beyond reproach. Would be huge.
You can see how much more LA *pops* out there when Ayton is engaged. The issue is that his focus is inconsistent. Here, Ayton covers for AR on D. AR then waits for Ayton to run a P&R to reward him with the ball. Ayton rolls hard, absorbs contact, then gets the putback dunk.

Kennard showed again last night that he has more sauce to his game. [Insert Shaq Apology Meme] Plays within himself + knows how to leverage his shooting threat. That he can run a play to get his own bucket in the 4Q is a huge luxury for LA. He's a key part of LA's recent surge.
Mini-thread on Kennard. I've been pleasantly surprised by his skills as a playmaker + connector. Here, he brings the ball up in transition. Keeps his dribble alive til he finds Hayes w/ a mismatch. Kennard makes a nice pass over the fronting defender to lead Hayes to the rim.

This is MAGA My Lai. It’s a horrific war crime committed in an unnecessary war launched without authorization and after demonstratively gutting rules of engagement and civilian protection measures. There must be accountability for the scores of children killed in this atrocity.
Breaking News: The U.S. was responsible for a missile strike on an Iranian school, an ongoing military investigation found. The inquiry said the strike — which Iranian officials said killed at least 175 people — was the result of a targeting mistake.

Appeasing Ayton is far down the list of LA's priorities. That said, I felt DA really missed AR when he was hurt. He has better P&R chemistry w/ AR than Luka IMO. Ayton rolled hard + AR rewarded him with the lob. I've noticed AR and Smart both look for ways to keep DA engaged.
