📢 Poll . Do you work in Parliament, and if you do, do you think the Jerk Chicken is worth the legendary levels of hype?.

📍Bellamys, 1 Parliament Street. 💰£4.50. 🍴Vegetable Lasagne with kale, squash and cranberries . 👍 8/10 always a safe bet at Bellamys. Slightly overcooked on the crust today but no complaints from me or my colleague!

📍 Debate, Portcullis House. 💰 £3.70. 🍴Miso sesame aubergine and smoky tofu, with brown rice, spring onions and maple soya sauce - with extra veg. 💭 7.5/10! Aubergine was slightly cold. Sauce was incredible. Colleague’s pork bap was too floury but was a 6.5/10

📍River, Lords Terrace . 💰 £6.50. 🍴Baked trio of mushroom pasta, with salad and cherry tomato focaccia toast. 💭 6/10! A little bit dry, and expensive, although the Lords always is pricey. A nice meal to return to Parliament on. Colleague’s steak was a 7.5/10!

🚨 My colleague would give it an 8.5, saying that there should have been more salad.

Buttered tarragon and mushroom sausages served with chips and baked beans. River - £5.20. It was fine. It was a bit dry (mayo couldn’t save it, unfortunately) so it gets a 6/10 from me :-(

Spiced paneer and naan burger, served with curry fries and curry sauce. River restaurant, Lords - £5.20!. A strong 7/10 from me. Way too many condiments on the burger but flavours were good. Spices balanced well. Colleagues concur with 6s and 7s!

Tofu and kale filo scroll with pickled radish, lemon and spring onion mayo . Bellamys - £3.90 (added orange) . Didn’t have high hopes but it was lovely, kale and tofu were cooked well and the mayo was a highlight, very fresh flavour. A respectable 7.5/10

I’m hearing from sources on the ground that the debate burrito was a success… What if that was my last straw.
