sometimes I pay for random SaaS products just to see what the payment flow is like.
If you must operate without a designer then you should do what designers do: . Copy the shit out of the apps you love. Find ones have solved similar problems. If you encounter a novel problem, look harder for examples. Study incumbents, old apps, Mobbin, etc.

nothing has taught me more about product-market fit than having to use the azure console this week. as long as you do something that provides customer value, you can absolutely screw up sign up, login, billing, and basic ux and still be a 100 billion dollar revenue business.

when i launched OnlineOrNot i had several dudes go into my DMs like "man i had the same idea, wanna partner up?". when you dig deeper you work out they just want to be the "ideas guy" while you do all the work. none of the folks that reached out ended up building anything.
somebody just told me they want to buy my app. i said no, it's too early and too small. they said "you know i could just build it, right?". what would you do?.
