Invest NI has handed over £9.73 million and £5.67 million of public money to RLC Group and Moyola, respectively. Both companies openly boast about manufacturing parts for F35 jets. These are the same planes dropping bombs on innocent Palestinians. 🧵 1/2

Given that Invest NI knew EAE had worked on F-35 projects for the aforementioned companies, did Invest NI conduct due diligence and contact the company to assess whether they continue to provide services for F-35 projects once Israel’s bombing campaign commenced? 11/13

As Invest NI conducts an internal review into public funding for companies linked to Israel’s F-35, our member-funded investigation has revealed the clearest link yet between Invest NI and the two main partners of the F-35 programme — BAE systems and Lockheed Martin. 9/13

He argued that while the fighter jets are used by quite a few countries, “it would be fair to say that the Northern Irish public funding is, through this fund, supporting the Israeli air force.” 8/13

The Irish Independent reported earlier this year that Martin Butcher, Oxfam’s policy adviser for arms, conflict and international humanitarian law said “at least some” public funding “will be assisting in the maintenance and repair of F-35s”. 7/13 https://t.co/G5UdBWvEmi

Israel is using its fleet of F-35 planes at five times the normal rate - these planes are used to drop 2000lb bombs on Palestinian people in Gaza. Israel has recently purchased even more F-35 planes to continue its genocidal onslaught. 6/13 https://t.co/Ofu20EAR2I

Utterly bizarre! This story had the lowest figures in terms of people viewing it out of anything I've written in recent weeks. To me it is the most important. Do people here genuinely not care about public money going to companies supporting Israel? https://t.co/mMKHiKqeq2

American politics may be exhausted but, in spite of it all, the ingredients exist for a potential renewal that cannot – and will not – come from either elitist centrism or Trumpian reaction.
