Employers are in no moral or ethical position to demand extraordinary behavior from employees like loyalty, exclusivity or full openness.
Some of the things companies do are reasonable, some aren't. But it is certainly unreasonable to accept these things and then say that the equivalent from the other side is somehow immoral. Companies may advertise a job title and description tailored to attract the candidates.

@deedydas This concludes the thread. The fundamental issue with the "overemployed playbook" is that in today's job market you need to almost be brazen about job stacking. You can't be hiding all the time, employer's have caught on, the safest place is near the spotlight not away from it.

@deedydas Do the work quickly deliver it slowly. No! You should simply have something to report each day. Work quickly if you want and can, but the key is not to work quickly and deliver slowly itself but simply to have enough done each day to have something to report the next one. I.

@deedydas Outsurce busywork:. Subcontract EVERYTHING not just busywork. Have someone else do all the work for you and all you do is handle meetings. I also recommend subcontracting to family, friends and people you trust first before hiring random people online just because they're cheap.

@deedydas Keep LinkedIn obscure. Literally the opposite! LinkedIn helps you get jobs, it helps you in getting noticed by recruiters that offer you jobs and in today's job market your pretty much need an optimized LinkedIn, which includes making it PUBLIC. DM me if you want my LinkedIn.

@deedydas "Focus work" on calendar. Yeah I've never recommended this and unless you're the boss, blocking off entire sections of your calendar to "focus" makes no sense and no one will respect it. You are supposed to be available during work hours, don't block off your calendar, instead.

@deedydas Camera off / async culture. Camera off all the time worked in 2020-2022. Today, unless there's a ton of team cohesion already in place, "camera off" is seen as bad form and could potentially hurt you. So be generous with "camera on" when there's no need to have it off so you.

AI everything. I have no idea what @deedydas meant by this. Maybe he's used to talking in buzzwords all the time. Who knows. The point is you should leverage AI where it makes sense to like coming up with corporate sounding nonsense in documents and your resume, but other than.

These guys really think that working for them is like being their girlfriend. They really think working for them is like fucking them. They're insane!.
@floydc69420 @kunalt12345 "my girlfriend and I have great sex. why does it matter if she's screwing other people?".

In this market I recommend whatever job you can get. How compatible the job is with job stacking will be known when you sit down and work it.
@RolfHaltza so do you recommend startups for that reason?.

Isn't the greatest fraud in employment the "other duties as assigned" clause of every employment contract and job description?. Employers give themselves a blank check to make anyone and everyone jump through whatever hoops they feel like at work.

Yeah, so should we start calling inaccurate job descriptions fraud?.
@deedydas "It's only an issue when you lie about it, falsify your resume and mislead.". So most employers commit fraud? Because the job can often be finished in < 8hrs per week while communicating other timeframes?. @RolfHaltza.
