Today (March 21st) is the 22nd anniversary of the Mega Man Battle Network series!
To celebrate, Capcom artist Keisuke Mizuno has drawn a new commemorative illustration.
Seem familiar? That's because it's a reference to this original promo art for Rockman EXE1!
On October 31st, 2001, the first Mega Man Battle Network game was released in North America! That means today isn't just the spookiest day of the year, it's also the 20th anniversary of MMBN in the West.
Happy Halloween!

Capcom’s 2023 greeting page features Mega Man Battle Network, including the Bunny virus for the Year of the Rabbit (plus a sneaky photo bombing Mettaur).
"Critical state" is an emotional state exclusive to MMBN5: Double Team DS. When your Navi enters this state, you can shout into the DS microphone to gain buffs like HP recovery and a Barrier.
What encouraging words would you say to MegaMan to get him back in the game?
It's June 9th, also known as Rockman Day! The name comes from the fact that in Japanese, "69" is pronounced like "rokku", as in "rock".
The number is referenced in all sorts of Mega Man media. For instance, it's the legendary NetBattle win streak achieved by MMBN's Mr. Famous.
According to Eguchi-san, the Legacy Collection will be making a change to MMBN6 so that it doesn't constantly play the incident music after you beat the game! (Thanks,
@Bapgei
!)
A look at the newly drawn hi-res WoodMan chip in MMBN1 from CapcomTV!!.

People who bought the original MMBN at launch are now (almost) 21 years older... Time sure flies, doesn't it?
Did you notice? Battle Network Legacy Collection trailer’s phrase, “No matter what, we’re always connected!” is a throwback to a slogan used for the 1st Battle Network Rockman EXE! (Also used in a commercial)
Instead of a period at the end this time, it ends with an exclamation!
Bomb-type Battle Chips hurl an explosive through the air, detonating where they land. A clever Operator can lure opponents into an explosive trap, or even attack from a defensive position depending on what else is on the field.
