My Aaka (Grandmother) was a huge proponent of preserving Iñupiaq language and tradition. I hope to make her proud by working to produce bilingual students proficient in the Iñupiaq language. Alaska history is native history, and I’ll bring those values to the State House.

To everyone who supported me, QUYANAQPAK! Thank you for understanding the importance of our schools and the need for remote Native communities to have a seat at the table. There’s a lot of work to do, and I’m looking forward to getting started. I’ll make you proud.

I want to thank the voters of Alaska’s House District 40 for believing in me. Together, we were able to flip this seat. In Juneau I will focus on education, voter access, and the wellbeing of our remote and rural communities.

Thank you to everyone who has taken the time to speak with me about important issues facing our state. Alaska is in dire need of education funding and economic development. Additionally, our region needs fair representation so rural communities have a seat at the table.

We can’t allow remote Alaskans to remain disenfranchised. Let’s work together with the state to make sure our votes matter and are counted.

Election day is one week from today! Alaska Natives make up almost 25% of the state population but in the 2022 election only 28% turned out to vote. Get to the polls November 5th!

I’m endorsed by the Alaska Professional Fire Fighters Association! First responders like fire fighters keep our communities safe, and I’ll be a strong advocate for public safety in the State Legislature.

My heart is with Kotzebue and the other communities dealing with the aftermath of this storm. I’m grateful to the state for declaring an emergency, and all the volunteers who assisted in evacuation. Please keep these communities in your thoughts and prayers as they recover.

Rural communities MUST have access to voting! We can no longer allow Native voices to go unheard in our democracy. In the State Legislature, a priority of mine will be ensuring our voting precincts have the materials they need to open on time and count our votes!

I support responsible resource development. The vast wealth of the Great State of Alaska is derived from HD40, from the Red Dog Mine to the North Slope Oil Fields. Residents continue to be careful stewards in developing infrastructure in accordance with our Inupiaq values.

Labor unions advocate for workers by pushing for higher wages, better working conditions, and benefits that improve workers’ quality of life. In the Legislature, I will support Alaska’s workforce by supporting our labor unions!

I’m proud to have endorsements from labor unions like the Alaska AFL-CIO, Alaska Public Employees Association, Laborers’ Local 341, and Teamsters Local 959.

Every child deserves a quality education. In the State House, I will support Alaska’s students, teachers, and administrators. Vote on November 5th!
