Another Interpretation of this can be an alternate version of the canon events in which Endo dies instead of Higi. Higi creates a robot modeled after him to cope with his death, though she knows it'll never truly be him.

Higi understands how he is, but wishes he could feel nonetheless. Endo's "emotions" are pretend, but they're the closest thing to what she wishes for.

In this AU, Higi (Blue) finds a damaged robot (Endo) and repairs him. She develops an emotional attachment to him upon his repair. Though Endo, being a robot, cannot feel emotion. He can only mimic it based on what he observes (him "crying" in the photo being an example).
