Pixelated sunshine? Midnight Sun #silkmosaic, #LucienneDay, 1980s. The #Sun was a recurrent theme in Lucienne's handstitched #silkmosaics - perhaps she was inspired by the light-reflecting brilliance of the #silks.

Summer Isles? Islands #silkmosaic, #LucienneDay, 1991. This monumental wallhanging was designed for the coffee shop at #JohnLewis, #KingstonuponThames. Lucienne may have been inspired by family holidays in the Greek islands. Now rehung in the main store @JohnLewisRetail Kingston.
