My biggest storm chasing win this year was a lightning bolt I never actually saw with my own eyes because I was looking in another direction - but was exactly what I was trying to capture when I drove to Boston that night.
Curious to know, what were your biggest storm chasing/photography wins of the year? What are you hoping to achieve next year?

Still images from my timelapse last week from the crescent moon rising behind Whaleback Light, the distortion making for a squiggly crescent at times. Mercury is also visible to the upper left of the moon in these frames. -- December 18, 2025 New Castle, New Hampshire

Market Square's holiday tree this year uses multicolored lights (last year was white). I like the variety year to year and love how these mostly blue lights reflect softly on the damp pavement. -- December 18, 2025 (predawn) Portsmouth, New Hampshire

Let the record reflect I was wrong by saying we wouldn't get a nice sunset today. It wasn't a full sky burn, but enough to zoom in a little on my favorite tree. -- December 20, 2025 • 4:17 PM Rollinsford, New Hampshire

Just daydreaming about how good the rainbow would've been if this happened an hour sooner... After a final downpour from a wire-thin squall line, some clear sky emerged just after sunset, then more clouds came racing in from the south while lower clouds approached from the west.

The chemical/oil tanker Magnifica is helped out to the ocean by one of the Moran tugboats with White Island Lighthouse (on the Isles of Shoals) in the background before sunrise Thursday. A fishing boat crosses paths with the large ship, as well. -- December 18, 2025 New Castle,

It's a unique temperature map right now across Maine and New hampshire, with the Conway/Fryeburg area stuck in the 30s while being surrounded by 50s.
