Today is Purple Heart Recognition day. The Purple Heart cannot be awarded for exceptional service or achievement alone. The recipient was either wounded or killed in action against hostile forces. In recognition Boston City Hall will turn Purple tonight. #purpleheartday

An honor to witness the installation of officers this week for the Boston Chinese American Citizens Alliance. The Boston C.A.C.A played a major role in the successful WWII Chinese American Congressional Gold Medal event held at Faneuil Hall.

Thank you to everyone who attended and supported yesterday’s Black Veterans Appreciation Brunch. It was great to see everyone yesterday as we celebrated the contributions of our Black Veterans from the revolutionary war to present day.
Boston is grateful for our veterans every single day of the year. Wonderful to celebrate our African American veterans community today with @BostonVets & recommit to ensuring access & resources for veterans & military families across our City.

Just received my booster from @VABostonHC. If you are a veteran or a spouse of consider getting vaccinated or get the booster at the VA. There will be another walk in vaccine clinic at the VA West Roxbury Campus on December 11, 2021 from 930am - 130pm.

I want to wish a Happy Thanksgiving to everyone; to active duty service members, my fellow veterans and their families. Especially to those service members overseas and at sea. While the war is over we cannot forget we maintain a presence around the world. #thankful

Our inaugural Boston Vets Book Club kicks off this November. Our first book is The Rifle written by our own Andy Biggio about the our heroes first hand accounts of WWII. Please sign up and share your reading experience with us as we discuss the book with Andy himself.
We will be reading @TheRifle_ by Andrew Biggio this month, and Mr. Biggio will join us for our meeting on November 30th to discuss and chat!

It was a privilege for me to present the Redgate family with a replica of 1LT Thomas Redgate’s Hero Square. 1LT Redgate was killed in action during the Korean War. 1LT Redgate returns home today after more than seventy years. WELCOME HOME 1LT Redgate and Rest In Peace.
